Current Issue: July/August 2026

Delivers in 3 to 5 Days

With its lighthouses and lobster rolls, salty air and beautiful beaches, the New England coast is made for summer vacation—and no matter where you live, the July/August issue of Yankee brings you right to the water’s edge. Come explore the fabled North Shore and South Shore of Massachusetts, twin coastal regions with their own distinct histories and charms. Head up to Maine to soak up the vibe of its beachiest beach town, Ogunquit. Or bring that coastal feeling home with seawater soap made in New England, and recipes from a chef who knows how to make seafood sing. Plus: In a nod to our nation’s 250th birthday, we tour New England destinations that U.S. presidents once called home.

Highlights of the July/August issue include:

· “Maine Courses” (p. 36) – Recipes of land and sea from acclaimed Maine chef Devin Finigan’s new cookbook, A Kitchen on Goose Cove.

· “Any Way You Slice It” (p. 42) – Two dishes that celebrate that classic summer treat, fresh-picked tomatoes.

· “Weekend Away in Ogunquit” (p. 44) – Where to eat, stay, and play in a Maine beach-town mecca.

· “Tidal Bout” (p. 56) – It’s North Shore vs. South Shore as two Massachusetts travel experts make the case for which region reigns supreme.

· “Temples of Unhurried Delight” (p. 80) – Lush photos from Jaci Conroy’s new book, The Summer House, inspire dreams of a picture-perfect cottage or cabin in New England.

· “Bathing Beauties” (p. 30) –?For the Cape Cod–based Atlantic Soap Co., do-it-yourself grit plus a splash of local seawater equals sudsy works of art.

· “Residential Power” (p. 70) –?From John Adams to Franklin Pierce, New England’s presidential homes offer a rare look at the foundations of our commanders in chief.
